Returning in late August 2025, Policy.nz will cover all the candidates for all local elections – all in one place.
Information for candidates
Profiles on Policy.nz are free for all candidates standing in elections for mayor, council, local board, and community board. Candidate profiles includes some basic information about you and why you’re standing. We also ask you about your policies on a range of topics related to the responsibilities of local government.
All you need to do to be included on Policy.nz is to be nominated as a candidate and complete our short email questionnaire.
Candidates who have opted to have their emails shared with media will receive a unique survey link directly by email in early August. If you are not sure whether you opted for your contact information to be shared, please contact the electoral officer for your election.
If you have not received an email by 15 August, please email candidates@policy.nz and let us know which elections you are standing in so that we can send you a survey.
